Read some of my bird poetry

Many of my readers come here to read about birds and see my photos of Australian birds.

That’s fine – and I appreciate all of my faithful readers and those who leave comments and questions.

What you may not be aware of is that I write for another blog which features more of my writings. Sometimes I feature poems or Haiku about birds.

To read one of my Haiku about birds click here.

    Hi Trevor,
Having problems! Both your links here keep taking me to the Wikipedia entry on Hypertext Transfer Protocol. Not sure whether the problem is at my end or yours.

  2. Trevor says:

All corrected now – thanks John. Somehow an extra http crept into the link URL. Sorry about that.

  3. Hi Trevor,
    I have “stumbled” your blog!

I still admire your great photography, and recently have come to also appreciate your writing very much! I like especially your haikkus.

How about Silesia and your plans to visit Germany?
I see your children are travelling all around the world, so why not make your dreams come true and visit your ancestors’ country?

    Greetings from there,
    Heidrun

    Hi Trevor,
I particularly like the Kookabirra Haiku. They certainly seem to know just when to laugh.

Thanks for your kind words Heidrun.

Yes – we are planning a visit to the land of my ancestors.

We had a huge reunion of the Hampel clan last October. This included the launch of our family history book. From the story of my ancestors I have an idea for a series of books for children about the journey to Australia and settlement here in South Australia.

It is a powerful story and must be told in more detail. A visit to the village where my people originated will be part of the research I will do. At this stage it will probably be in 2010.

Thanks John – I appreciate your comments.
