Birds in the News #86

The latest edition of Birds in the News has been posted. It has links to many articles about birds in the news from around the world. It worth visiting just for the lovely photo of a Yellow-eyed Junco.

One of the more bizarre items is a link to an article giving details of how nightingale poo is being used as a beauty aid to treat wrinkles.

    Hmmm … I’m always on the lookout for a new business idea. I wonder why it has to be from nightingales? Would seabird guano sell just as well?

    We could advertise it with footage of soaring albatrosses and close ups of their immaculate plumage. Who could resist?

    Indeed. Actually though I’d prefer one of the Gannet species – they always seem such clean birds, though the Albatross may be more marketable as a more easily recognisable species. (Er it looks like a big sea gull (sic) don’t it?)
