Happy Bird-day to me

Yes, that’s right.

It’s my birthday today, so to treat all my faithful readers I’m going to share some of my favourite photos.

Oh, and if you’d like to write some birthday messages in the comments section, I’d be mighty chuffed too.

Great shots birthday boy! Thanks for the presents.

  6. Trevor says:

Thank you everyone. I had a very busy and productive day but only 5 minutes birding. This was to test out my present to myself, a new pair of binoculars. They are lightweight, compact and yet powerful – just right for 6 weeks of birding in Ethiopia, Morocco and Spain in December and January. Stay tuned for some great non-Australian bird photos next year! (For example – vultures on the school oval in Addis Ababa where my daughter is teaching!)

Just curious: what kind of binoculars did you get? And what an exciting trip that sounds like!

      Hi Susan,

I bought a Bushnell Trophy XLT 8 x 32 – I think they are primarily aimed at hunters – excuse the pun! I went for light and compact for travelling, yet with enough magnification for reasonable birding. So far I’m really pleased. I didn’t want to spend up big either – the trip is costing enough – and at $225 thought they were a good purchase. The salesman even gave me discount off that for my birthday.

  8. I know this is late in coming to you but “Happy Birthday” for the 16th November of last year. I hope your day was a happy one. I stumbled across your site by doing a Google search for Red Wattlebirds, and just couldn’t stop reading and looking at all the bird photos that you have on this site. You really have done a marvellous job with recording all the birds you’ve spotted. Give yourself a pat on the back.
