TODAY MARKS THE FOURTH BIRTHDAY OF THIS BLOG ABOUT AUSTRALIAN BIRDS.

Happy birthday to my blog.

It has just passed the 950th article about Australian birds and is going from strength to strength as far as readership is concerned. Over 600 readers per day, from over 100 countries, and several thousand comments from interested birders worldwide.

Thank you to all of my faithful regular readers. Welcome to all of my new readers.

Thank you also to those who take the time to leave a question or a comment. You are valued. I especially appreciate those who say how much they enjoy this blog.

To celebrate this special occasion I invite readers to leave birthday greetings in the comments section. And while you are here, don’t forget all those other articles reaching back over four years now. Browse through the archives, click on the categories in the side bar or look through the many articles listed in the contents section.

To celebrate I’ve featured some of the best photos from the last year. Click on the photo to enlarge the image.

    Thanks gwendolen and steve.
Writing about birds is one of my passions in life – which makes it easy writing!
    Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Trevor says:

Thanks Snail. Love hearing about all the creatures in your (new) necks of the woods.

  5. Hi Trevor
Congratulations, and apologies for the long silence at this end of Aus. It’s that PhD plus a horde of visiting birders! I hope to make it down your way next year.
    Denise

    Thanks Denise,

I know what it is like to be studying. I’m currently doing my Master of Arts in Creative Writing and have just reached the half way mark of my thesis paper – a 40,000 word novel for children – birds feature in it of course! About the only birding I get to do at present is what I can see out of my office window. That can be wonderfully distracting though.

    Hi Trevor,
Many congratulations! I once saw a birthday card that would be very apt for this occasion. It was all in pictures, so I’ll try to paint a word picture. It was animals, in a number of rows or lines. The first line had a hippopotamus, a bird, and two sheep, the second line was the same. The third line had the Hippo, the bird, a fawn and a sheep, and the fourth line the Hippo, bird and two sheep!

(Happy birthday to your blog, anyway!)

  13. Trevor says:

Thanks for dropping by James, Don, Peter and John. I really appreciate you taking time out to leave a few comments.

  14. wendy says:
